On August 9, 2026, the Anim sur le Lac festival, in collaboration with its partners and the jury, awarded 5 prizes and 2 honorable mentions worth a total of $6,000. The jury consisted of Pierre Hébert, Janice Nadeau, Mélanie Saint-Germain, and Patrick Bouchard.

BEST PICTURE AWARD
The Best Picture Award, worth $2,000 and presented by the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), was awarded to “VOLCELEST” (France) by Éric Briche.
Artistic Innovation Award
The Artistic Innovation Award, worth $1,000 and presented by the Saguenay Film Commission, was awarded to the film “Lumi Saadab Meid” (Winter in March) (Estonia, Armenia, and France) by Natalia Mirzoyan.


Best Quebec Film
The award for Best Quebec Film, a $1,000 in services prize presented by La bande Sonimage, was awarded to “Apnée” (Apnea) (Quebec) by Badminton Plus.
Best Student Film
The award for Best Student Film, a $1,000 prize presented by the Bachelor of Arts and Science in Animation (BASA) program at Université Laval, was awarded to “Des gens vivent ici” (People Live Here) (Quebec) by Gabrielle Côté.


Honorable Mention for a Student Film
An honorable mention was awarded to the film “The Sky Was Candy” (Germany) by Anh Tú Nguyen.
Honorable Mention: Jury’s Favorite
An honorable mention was awarded to the film “Les pieds dans l’eau” (Feet in Water) (France) by Eloïc Gimenez Yoon.


Audience Choice Award
The Audience Choice Award, worth $1,000 and presented by Culture Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean, was awarded to “Lola et le piano à bruits” (Lola and the Sound Piano) (France, Poland, and Switzerland) by Augusto Zanovello.
